Custom Wood Screen Doors Built to Fit
Custom wood screen doors are made-to-order exterior screen doors built from real wood and manufactured to fit standard or custom-size door openings. Cobblestone Millworks builds custom wood screen doors for dealers, builders, contractors, and restoration projects, with durable joinery, replaceable screens, paintable or stainable wood options, custom configurations, specialty details, and composite panel options. The styles shown below are starting points for inspiration and can be customized to fit the needs of each project.
Wood Options for Screen Doors
Standard wood screen doors are available in clear vertical grain western red cedar. Additional wood species are available by request, including sapele mahogany, white pine, white oak, red oak, cypress, Spanish cedar, Douglas fir, and redwood. Composite is not available for stiles and rails, but Composite panels can be incorporated into custom wood screen door configurations.
Cedar Screen Doors Built for Exterior Use
Western red cedar is a popular choice for wood screen doors because it is stable, durable, and well suited for painted or stained exterior finishes. Cobblestone wood screen doors use mortise-and-tenon joinery and waterproof glue for long-lasting exterior performance.
Replaceable Screens and Maintenance
Cobblestone wood screen doors are designed with replaceable screens. Screens are installed with 1/8” spline for easier replacement, and replacement kits include screen, spline, and an installation tool.
Wood Screen Door vs. Storm Door
A wood screen door is designed primarily for airflow, visibility, and insect protection. A storm door is designed for added weather protection and may include glass or interchangeable panels. For projects that need both ventilation and storm protection, view Cobblestone’s combination door options.
